Out of 4718 applicants, Andrew was selected as one of the 72 participants in the BBC Writersroom Voices – Belfast Hub. This intensive six-month programme gives participants an insider’s view into the television industry, providing crucial tools for TV  scriptwriting. The curriculum include expert masterclasses, craft sessions, and enlightening discussions, all designed to refine Andrew’s skills for a successful career in TV writing.

Andrew has secured funding from the Fingal Artists’ Support Scheme, a programme aiding professional artists in enhancing their artistic practice. The grant is being used to develop his short film script, “Crossing the Line”, a poignant exploration of loyalty, survival, and guilt after a young man commits an unimaginable act against his best friend. This project will also mark Andrew’s directing debut.

Out of several hundred applicants Andrew has been selected for the Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland Spotlight Scheme where he will develop his debut film Fishscale.  The scheme is aimed at discovering and developing fresh and exciting screenwriting talent in Ireland at the early stages of their careers. The successful writers are assigned a script editor, mentor and  receive a development loan whilst developing their screenplay.

Andrew has been selected for BFI NETWORK x BAFTA Crew 2021, a year-long development programme and community, delivered by BAFTA in partnership with BFI NETWORK, and supported by National Lottery funding. Across 2021, the programme includes round tables, masterclasses and networking events as well as selected events in the BAFTA Learning and New Talent programme.
